Great Leaders Do Not Rule…They Empower

Today’s most successful leadership training programs develop leaders who do not dictate or command.

That hierarchical approach may work in times of war but in today’s more open corporate cultures, if you want your organization to succeed, you need to empower your workforce to realize your company’s vision. You can’t do it alone.

Effective leaders know how to ensure that each and every employee:

  •         Clearly understands the company vision
  •         Fully commits to furthering that vision in any way they can
  •         Truly feels empowered to act in alignment with the strategic objectives and company values

As a leader, your job is to communicate the vision and create an environment in which your workforce is encouraged to follow and enable it. In other words, do not tell people what to do, but set up an environment that encourages the behaviors and results that you expect.

In short, hire the best people you can, build a shared vision, create a culture that promotes and supports high performance and continuous learning, and then trust good employees to act accordingly.
